MICHELLE CURRY, ARTIST BIOGRAPHY<\/p>\n

Michelle has created works of art in various mediums, using Oils, Acrylics, Watercolors, Colored Pencils, Pastels, Graphite, and some Digital Media. She has done still life, landscape, and portraiture, as well as lyrical pieces that “tell a story.\" Her rich and varied life experiences create a fertile creativity from which to communicate visually. She continues to work toward mastery in whatever she is working with at the moment, both in technical skill, and in conveying the subject matter.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Mchelle resides in Florida, which is a rich environment for artists, and is known for it’s art culture, and towns. It boasts magnificent flora and fauna, wildlife, world-class waterways, and the Ocean that create an abundance of scenery, and constant change. She grew up in Michigan, and has traveled and lived in different places around the U.S. and visiting many others in between, and has come to know that there is beauty everywhere regardless of locale.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michelle was born partially deaf, and was trained early in lip-reading. She feels that her sensitivity to visual details is in part a cause of this defect, which goes with the “seeing\" aspect of creating art. Michelle’s early influences as far as art was concerned, included exposure to painting, collage, and etching, as well as studying under artists who were locally known and from the UK.  Michelle became a Christ-follower in her teens and has served in various ministries throughout the years. Michelle has always had a love for the created natural world, and the environment, and this is borne out often in her subject matter choices for creating art. She loves trees, water and wildlife. Michelle early on developed a love for reading great literature, and history, as well as developing a love for, and belief in life-long learning, self-reliance, and independence, and which also gave her an interest in different cultures, sociology, art history, theology, psychology, and science. She has trained, and is a certified Art Docent. <\/span>Michelle has completed 7 years of college, earning two degrees, one in Graphic Design\/Business, and the other in Illustration, as well as maintaining honors status during college, and is a lifelong member of the Phi-Theta Kappa Honor Society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michelle wears many hats in her artistic endeavors. As well as continually creating art,  she does private tutoring in art for individuals, and classes for larger groups.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Her other interests are reading, sometimes writing, history, and listening to music, especially classical, or celtic, hymnody, or historical ballads, and jazz. She sometimes enjoys culinary cuisine, and walking, and camping in the summer (especially when she can mix some “plein air\" painting in)!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Michelle has shown her art in for many years in art shows, juried shows, galleries, and public venues, such as public libraries, hospitals, credit unions, and banks. She has been in the news through the years both in print, and news broadcasting. Her work has won awards, and is retained in private and corporate collections.<\/p>\n
